La selección de Sonora conquistó el primer lugar en el Campeonato Nacional de Basquetbol Femenil U16, que se celebró en esta frontera, luego de imponerse en la final al representativo de Chihuahua.

“Se cumple con las expectativas, tanto deportivamente, como en el desarrollo del evento de logística y organización también, obviamente agradecido con el alcalde Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, por hacer esto posible”, expresó Juan Escalante, titular del Instituto Municipal de Deporte.

“Creo que Ciudad Juárez está cambiando la imagen alrededor del deporte. Se está proyectando una muy buena imagen. Acá los estados voltean a ver hacia esta frontera, quieren venir a organizar los eventos de talla nacional y estatal, cuando a principios de la administración batallábamos para poder realizarlos”, agregó.
